Dota 2’s Lima Major Bracket Set After Incredibly Close Group Stage

One of the essential esports tournaments of the year, the Dota 2 Lima Major welcomes the top Dota 2 teams worldwide to battle for a piece of the prize pool and priceless DPC points. Teams compete in a series of matches to identify who advances and who is eliminated in the double-elimination bracket-style competition.

In this article, we will concentrate on the outcomes of the group stage, in which 18 teams were divided into two groups and competed against one another to decide who would move on to the next round of the competition, who would be demoted to the lower bracket, and who would be eliminated outright.

Group A Results

Most of the top teams in the event competed fiercely in Group A for a spot in the upper bracket. Gamin Gladiators and TI 10 winners Team Spirit had impressive records of 11 victories and 5 defeats, but courtesy of the tie-breaker criteria, Gamin Gladiators took first place. Tundra Esports, the victors of PSG.LGD and TI 11 squeezed it into the lower bracket with records of 8-8 and 7-9, respectively. Evil Geniuses and Talon Esports both qualified for the upper bracket with records of 10-6.

Because their club had previously finished all of its matches from the earlier stages and needed two sets of outcomes to be favorable to avoid having to play tiebreaker games and leaving the tournament early, Tundra fans found the last day of the group stage to be extremely difficult. Tundra was fortunate not to play any more games because TSM and Execration lost their most recent contests by 2-0.

EHOME, who had a miserable 3-13 record, joined TSM and Execration in leaving the tournament early. Although one of the most seasoned teams, they failed to compete with the other elite teams since they couldn’t find their form.

Group B Results

Team Liquid and Entity had established themselves as the top two teams in Group B before the final round of matches, with Liquid only losing two maps during the whole group stage. The Knights, who finished last in the league, put on a dismal display at the opposite end of the table, winning just once and losing 15 times.

The tournament’s biggest surprise, Bet Boom, finished ninth in Group B and was eliminated on the final day of regular matches in the group stage. In contrast, Shopify Rebellion advanced to the upper bracket with a 10-6 victory.

The elimination in eighth place in Group B upset a lot of spectators and supporters. The group stage is over, and the main event, in which the best teams compete against one another to decide the ultimate winner, is in full view. In the first round of matches, the eight teams who qualified for the upper bracket will square off against one another, and the losers of each matchup will then face a team that qualified for the lower bracket.

Millions of viewers are expected to tune in to see the main event, which promises to be an exciting display of the greatest Dota 2 talent from across the world. The competition will be intense, and the stakes will be significant, so the teams must be at their best to win.

Odds to win The Lima Major 2023 Dota 2

The 12 teams who qualified for the playoffs have been seeded based on their performance in the group stage. The top four teams from each group have been placed in the upper bracket, while the fifth and sixth-placed teams will compete in the lower bracket.

Best-of-Three Format

All playoff games will be played in a best-of-three format, providing players with an opportunity to come back after a defeat. However, the grand finals will be played in a best-of-five format, with higher stakes than ever.

Favorites to Win

Despite a few surprises in the group stage, the teams expected to win the Lima Major 2023, according to the esports betting markets, are still in the running. Fans can anticipate exciting contests between some of the world’s top teams.

Exciting Matches Ahead

As we head into the Lima Major 2023 playoffs, it’s hard not to get excited about the upcoming matches. Fans can expect to see some intense gameplay as the teams battle it out for a chance to become champions. With so much on the line, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.

The Western European Teams Dominate the Lima Major 2023 Group Stage

The group stage of the Lima Major 2023 is finished, and the Western European teams are formidable. According to the most recent esports betting odds, Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, and Entity have the three most excellent chances of winning the match.

The Gaimin Gladiators won Group A with a perfect 4-3-1 record, overcoming formidable rivals including Team Spirit, Evil Geniuses, and Talon Esports. Entity finished in second place in Group B with a record of 4-3-1, narrowly trailing Team Liquid, who once again showed dominance by winning all six games. Shopify Rebellion and Team Aster, the remaining teams in the group, failed to match the top two teams’ pace.

Looking Ahead to the Playoffs

The best Western European clubs will concentrate on the playoffs after the group round. They intend to maintain their strong performance and win the competition. However, several more outstanding teams worldwide will attempt to defy the odds and advance further in the competition.

As we’ve seen, anything can happen in the playoffs, and one poor performance may put a whole team’s tournament run on hold. Dota 2 activity will be thrilling over the next several days as the top teams compete for supremacy.

Group Stage Success doesn’t Guarantee Playoff Victory

With an overall record of 14-8-2, Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, and Entity may have appeared the strongest in the group round, but winning the Bo2 round does not ensure playoff success. This does not, however, exclude them from succeeding.

Team Liquid is well-known for dependability and is regarded as the world’s best Dota 2 squad. As they will be a strong candidate to win The Lima Major in 2023, many analysts believe this. In The International 2022, they placed third and added Nisha, a former Secret player, to their team.

By winning the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 1: Division I without dropping a single series, Team Liquid has already demonstrated its strength. They are in a solid position to advance far in The Lima Major 2023 based on their performances in the group round. It will not be easy, as the title still faces several challenges.

As we’ve seen, winning the group stage doesn’t always guarantee to win the playoffs. Teams must provide their best effort in every game to advance in the double-elimination tournament. Yet, Team Liquid will at least get it to the finals and possibly win the tournament if they can maintain their domination and keep the wind in their sails.

Some of the best teams in the world compete for dominance in the Dota 2 Lima Major, making it an exciting and unexpected event thus far. Throughout the group round, there was a lot of drama and excitement as some teams narrowly avoided elimination while others pleasantly surprised everyone with their performances. The stress increases as the competition advance to the main event.
