Gaimin Gladiators Remain Undefeated in DreamLeague S20 Championship Run
It has been a remarkable year for the Gaimin Gladiators, who have now won their fourth consecutive Tier 1 title after a grueling tournament run at DreamLeague Season 20. Gaimin faced several tough opponents throughout the tournament, including BetBoom Team whom they had lost to three times in a row previously, in the grand finale. Despite the odds, Gaimin rose to the challenge and clinched the championship title with a 3-2 win over BetBoom as underdogs.
The DreamLeague S20 championship match between Gaimin Gladiators and BetBoom Team was a thrilling display of high-level esports action. The first game was a close laning phase with minimal kills for both teams. However, Gaimin attempted an early base push that ultimately failed, losing the teamfight and allowing BetBoom to gain the lead.
Despite this setback, Gaimin won a major teamfight near the Roshan pit shortly afterwards. Dyrachyo took on a low-odds man fight against opposing heroes and emerged victorious, turning the tide of the game.
BetBoom came back strong in Game 2 with a more formidable roster that performed well in the laning stage and had sustained damage output. They ultimately won the game with ease.
Gaimin suffered a crushing defeat in Game 3, opting for a mid-Dragon Knight and carry Shadow Fiend core combination that simply did not work out.
In Game 4, Gaimin made a lot of movements in the early to mid-portions of the game, led by Quinn’s Storm Spirit. These plays helped build up a lead that allowed them to take the game.
Game 5 was arguably the most exciting of the series, as it witnessed one of the biggest outdrafts of the tournament. Gaimin had a very strong laning lineup despite having no stuns, which helped them secure the victory.
Despite the intense competition from BetBoom, Gaimin Gladiators remained undefeated in their DreamLeague S20 championship run. This is a testament to their dominance in the esports scene and a showcase of their unparalleled skill.
Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, the captain of Gaimin Gladiators, acknowledged the tough challenge they faced in the final and said, “The team provided such a great challenge to Gaimin in the final, noting that this triumph was probably harder than the two Majors as well.“
Despite the loss, BetBoom Team can take heart from their performance in DreamLeague S20. They finished second in the tournament and secured a spot in the Riyadh Masters 2023. However, they will need to accumulate enough Dota Pro Circuit points to remain in the top 12 standings and gain a direct invite to The International.
Gaimin Gladiators’ dominance in Dota 2 shows no signs of slowing down, and their future prospects are incredibly bright. Their latest triumph at DreamLeague S20 has only cemented their status as the best team in the game.
